Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Declaration
At Warwick Christian College, we acknowledge that education has the potential to change lives and prepare young people for the journey of life. It is our mission to provide excellent opportunities for our students to develop a strong Christian character and grow to their full potential academically, socially, physically and spiritually.
In December 2019, the Coalition of Australian Governments (COAG) Education Council, released the Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Education Declaration, a nationwide agreement to 10 years of dedicated commitment to impacting the lives of the coming generations through education. The Council agreed to two key goals that are to guide and drive the planning and implementation of the Australian Curriculum, and the interrelated frameworks and syllabuses of all states and territories, for all students from Prep to year 12. The Mparntwe Declaration places a renewed emphasis on addressing gaps in educational achievement as well as preparing students from an early age to thrive in a rapidly changing and challenging world.
The two goals articulated in the Mparntwe Declaration are:
- The Australian education system promotes excellence and equity.
- All young Australians become confident and creative individuals, successful lifelong learners, and active and informed members of the community.
Warwick Christian College prides itself on being at the forefront of life changing educational opportunities for all our students, and actively develops learning journeys that align well with the Mparntwe Declaration.
